Five on Friday

I'm just going to jump right in...joining April, Natasha and Caroline for their 5 on Friday linkup. {one} My husband and I went to an event at our church called Unite One Night last Friday night. It is an event for married couples to have a worship service together and also hear some great messages on marriage. It was a really great sermon with a good message. Getting more involved with some events and activities our church offers was on my 18 for 2018 list. Additionally, Tanner went to his middle school One Night last Sunday. He will continue to

Punta Cana Recap | Part I

Since I spent so much time away from this blog, I've not done a post about our trip to Punta Cana this past November for our 10th anniversary. This is sort of a teaser post as I am only sharing the pics that we had professionally taken while there, but I will be back with a couple recap photos (we were there a week, so one post with all of the photos would just be too much to take in all at once.) Anyway, our resort offered free 1-hr photo sessions with no obligation to purchase digitals and if you

Our Home | Living Room Update

So I have a problem...I'm a serial re-decorator. It happens all the time. Case in point: my living room. While I absolutely loved the pink and yellow accents, I would get a little antsy when I added anything that had some blues or greens in it because to me it sort of clashed. However, I love all colors, and I really loved some of the things I was trying to add, so I decided that I needed to find a way to make it less restrictive to just yellows and pinks. Solution - switching out the master bedroom and living

Our Home | Porch Updates

I don't know about you, but I am so eager for spring to be here for good. We're starting to get some warmer weather teases, so I know it's getting close. I started fixing up our porch areas - they needed a good cleaning after winter. I finally bit the bullet and bought the ridiculously expensive replacement cushions for my white wicker couches on the screened porch (they are the exact couches on the website I ordered from) only to find out that my love seat must have been a custom-made one because the standard cushions for the love seat

Weekend Vibes

Happy Monday! Well, this weekend was fairly uneventful. I basically cleaned, did laundry, finished up another school week, grocery shopped and meal prepped. My husband had his USCG Reserves duty this weekend and unfortunately worked later than planned both days, which made my 9-mile training run not possible. I'm a little bummed, but I've learned in this training process from others that have gone through it that it's OK to miss some runs and to just keep trudging forward and not over-train by trying to make up the miles. At this point, I'm certain I could make it through a

18 for 2018

Wow, where to start? It's been something like 4 months since my last post. To be honest, I was sort of going to let it go and stop blogging. However, something keeps bringing me back. I think I just love to write...whether anyone reads it at all. So I'm going to do my best to keep this place up and hope you'll continue to follow along (if I haven't lost you already). If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably noticed that I've made that account a fitness account. I will likely keep it that way, and keep life,

Our Home | Beachy Boys’ Bathroom

One of the things I love most about our house is the bedroom layout. It really works perfectly for our family as when you go upstairs, to the left down the hallway is Farrah's room with her own private bathroom (such a lucky girl), right in the middle of the hallway in front of the stairway is our master bedroom and around the corner to the right down the hallway are the boys' rooms with their Jack and Jill style bathroom. I always joke that Farrah has the left wing of the house and the boys have the right -

Thoughts on Thursday | Life Lately

I am already in the throes of fall. In a matter of a few weeks, we've gone to the pumpkin patch, gone on a couple lovely boat outings with gorgeous weather, done some major fall cleaning and decluttering for a garage sale coming up and there is still so much more on our calendar. I haven't posted in a few days so I wanted to do a quick "life lately" update here. I've been getting outdoors to exercise when possible. I have been taking advantage of Monday afternoons running in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant down to Pitt Street

Thoughts on Thursday | Clearing the Clutter

I know it has been a little while since I posted! I have been in the midst of my last two weeks of school, so I've been focusing on that and of course everything else that comes with being a working mom of three. Thankfully, I finish up on Sunday and most of my work for this last week is completed, so my head is clear enough to pump out a good ol' blog post here for ya! Speaking of clear head, on a recent Target spree , I picked up the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese

Five on Friday

Happy Friday! Another week for the books. Hope you had a great one! Here are my five things this week: {one} Saw this Free People top on another blog last week and decided to wait on the purchase. I am glad I did because I searched it today and found it at Nordstrom for 30% off when it is still full price on all of the other sites. It is the Laguna top. Hurry and order if you like it because it will go fast on sale. It comes in black, gray and turquoise as well. I wish I could
