Five on Friday
Hurricane Irma left my screened porch a bit soggy and dirty. I was smart enough to take the cushions in and wash them while the storm was here, but I left the jute rug out there and it was completely soaked after all was said and done. (Do you know how HEAVY a wet jute rug is???) I had to move it outside and leave it there for three days to dry in the sun. While it was sunbathing, I swept, vacuumed and wiped down the entire space. I typically do this 3-4 times a year anyway, so now was as good a time as any. So last night I got to put the rug back in and set the cushions back out. I am happy to have my relaxation spot back together in time for some fall evenings.
The peacock bistro chairs used to be on the front porch, but I like them here, plus it cleared up some space by taking out the larger chairs. I will put those out front.
If y’all know me, you know I try to creatively put fitness into my hectic schedule when the opportunity arises. On Thursday evenings, Farrah has dance at 3:45-4:30 and then the boys have their Ninja Zone classes from 5:00-5:45. So last night was the boys’ second week of class and I got smart and threw the jogging stroller and my weight vest in my SUV before heading out for their activities. Farrah and I were able to go running around the area to kill time while they were in class. This is definitely going to happen every Thursday (pending weather, of course).
And speaking of the weight vest, my prime season for enjoying bridge walks/runs is coming up and I plan to get a lot of use out of this baby again. It’s only 12 lbs, but it makes a difference!
Speaking of fitness, I recently decided to hold my neighborhood boot camps again with the Ladies’ Fitness group I started on Facebook. I was going to wait until October when my school semester is done, but the courses this time around feel lighter for some reason, so I think I may start next week. The plan is to hold them on Wed. evenings, and possibly add in Fridays if they want. The girls that would come really raved about them and have been telling me they missed them. I love doing it too because it gets me in gear too!
Weekend plans = none. I kind of like it that way. I mean, I’ll do the usual – barre class on Saturday and church on Sunday, cleaning, etc., but other than that, looking forward to a relaxing, non-stormy weekend. #boringandbasic (See #1 for where I plan on spending my time.) Although I could use a beach day…we might do that. I started another painting the other day – not near finished, it still has a lot of detail to add, but if you can see where my head is at…(it’s going to be titled, “A Perfect View”)
And I guess I will end this with a 21-Day Fix update…the diet is going well, but it is hard some days. In case you missed it, I posted my meal plan earlier this week. I have my 2 months out from Punta Cana update coming up on Monday and I’m pretty nervous as I doubt there has been much change even though I feel I’m working hard. We shall see. I still have two months, but my window of time is rapidly diminishing! Regardless, post-Punta Cana, I will still push forward with my goals.
